2Moons is a MMORPG published by Acclaim under the direction of David Perry. The game is an adaptation of Korean MMORPG Dekaron by Gamehi for the North American market, featuring a new story line by Henry Jones. The closed beta testing ended March 7th, 2007.
As stated by David Perry, Acclaim is "the new kid on the block" in the MMORPG market and they have had a lot of issues to fix while preparing for the open beta launch of this Dekaron adaptation.
The story of 2Moons tells of a world where enemies called the "Pitborn" rise up from the depths to plague the lands, with only two cities remaining to fight The Corruption. In Loa and Braiken, players begin and fight their way to reclaim the world before all is lost.
2Moons is the third release from Acclaim, which will focus entirely on providing multi -player online games with optional paying item mall. Their games will be supported by in-game advertising provided by IGA Worldwide and virtual item stores. For 2Moons, players will also be allowed to turn off the in-game adverting if they choose to, a major innovation in the free online game industry.
2Moons is being promoted as potentially the most violent MMORPG to ever hit the North American market. Adapted from the Korean MMO Dekaron by famed designer David Perry, 2Moons promises to bring a unique free-to-play game experience.
David Perry is famous for his work on games like Earthworm Jim, Cool Spot and dozens of other projects that gamers of all ages are certain to recognize. More recently, he has proclaimed that he will only make online games, of which, 2Moons is the first.
Fast-action, bloody combat powers the 2Moons experience. Players fight NPC enemies in a never ending stream of gore and decapitations as they battle for the very soul of their world, Haran.
The story of 2Moons tells of a world where enemies called the "Pitborn" rise up from the depths to plague the lands, with only two cities remaining to fight The Corruption. In Loa and Braiken, players begin and fight their way to reclaim the world before all is lost.
The game breaks players into six groups. Bagi Warriors are corrupted creatures, half taken by the Pitborn, who, while tainted, survive to fight back their enemies; the Segnale are skilled assassins and healers; the Incar Order are the magicians of the land; the Azure Order are a Spartan-like race of warriors; the Segita bring bows, tracking and hunting to the battlefield; and the Summoners battle with creatures summoned to them.
The game is free-to-play with optional advertising to support the game. Players can opt in or out of seeing advertisements in their user interface. For those that leave them on, automatic bonuses are given in terms of experience gained. The game will also feature an item mall for players to further customize their characters.
2Moons is currently in beta testing, and Acclaim hopes to launch the game in the summer of 2007.
